I would like to try comp, but I'd feel like it'd be toxic and I'd be not as skilled as the other players. Most competitive communities on games I play are quite toxic, including TF2.

I left due to holding down my team, getting trash talked by 90% of the team. I also applied for staff on wonderland around the time I left the team so, I decided to play the game more casually

I will admit, some of the rumors you hear about comp is indeed true (the toxicity and skill difference), however that's only one side of the coin.
Comp is literally the only reason why I still play TF2, it's just incomparable to any other comp scene I've ever tried. If you get on to a really good team, it won't ever feel like a team, and instead like a close family, any dedicated good team will you the same thing

That team wasn't a good team then, any good team that wants to go far will prioritize mental heavily over DM. You will never ever go far with shitty mental, DM isn't everything.

I used solo queue a lot in comp CS:GO, and used to not have any problems talking or interacting with random teammates. Nowadays, though, I have massive amounts of trouble using the voice chat in any game and prefer to stay silent. Just too scared to meet strangers, I guess.

Yeah, that's pretty normal honestly, when I first played comp tf2, I would use a voice changer so that people wouldn't hear my real voice, though I don't do that anymore. It takes time to get used to the massive amounts of communication if you haven't experienced it before, but once you do, it's really fun :)

Sheeeiit. Using a voice changer goes all the way back to the skype days for me, back when my voice was super squeaky. I hated my voice then (still kinda do), but not talking for so long basically reverted me back to those days. I either have to be pretty high or in a really good mood to bother talking anymore >_>

Also I have no idea a good place to get started at all. I don't know any good providers except for like ESEA I think, but I don't wanna be paying for anything.

I Do want to try comp but there are some problems excluding the issue of skill and aim the problems are the fact that i dont have much time to play tf2 and the other problem being preformance problems even on lowest graphic settings its hard to get a consistent 60 fps

Skill should never be an issue, especially if you sign up for things like newbie team drive (I'm pretty sure signups are over, however you might be able to become a sub, or join RGL Newcomer). The performance problems, however, is a huge factor, even with the lowest graphic settings you can barely get consistent 60 fps, I would recommend lowering your video resolution to 4:3, try b4nny's resolution. Do not use ESEA/UGC anymore, I've been playing for a league called RGL, it's completely free and (in comparison to other leagues) it's extremely newbie-friendly, add me on discord if you want to know more :) dimmy#0073
