If people couldn't tell by now, I love deathrun. It's the only gamemode I've ever made maps for, and really the only gamemode I play in tf2 nowadays.

This is a thread where I'll post about DR map updates and releases. Idk about what anyone else can do. Maybe just post their thoughts on said maps? I don't think this kinda thing through.

Anyway I start with the release of DR_NEONOIR_V8

I tried that map and it's amazing, I'm not gonna spoil anything for people but I have a question, can you make jail break maps?

I've been thinking of making my own JB map for some time but it isn't ny specialist subject. The best I could do is collab with someone who knows more about JB mapping than me. As for JB updates, also not my speciality. I don't keep track of all map updates, just DR ones.

Aw, that's kinda sad ;/ I really love your DR map creations so I thought if you could make JB ones.

DR_NEONOIR_V8X

Changelog:
  • Re-packed some missing textures
  • Fixed an entity that got corrupted by hammer
Considering the size of the map, I'm surprised that's the only problems they found within the first day. There's a V9 version of neonoir that sorta exists, but only sorta, since the source engine keeps throwing a hissy fit.

DR_WASTELABS_A4

Changelog:
  • Smaller file size
  • HDR lighting
  • Bug fixes
  • Something to do with music IDK
I like wastelabs because it takes the mickey out of me in a room somewhere in the map :katlul:
I actually missed every playtest for this build of the map too. I'll try it sometime.

Please update neonoir to v9x. it contains a few bug fixes, the mr booby mini game has an indicator and the untested platform part is actually paossible there

The full release of Stardust!
Changelog since last time wonderland saw it:
  • A LOT
  • SO MUCH I CAN'T EVEN LIST IT
  • ARENA, TEXTURES, DETIALS, OPTIMISATION, AAAAAAA
This is the least professional post I'll make on this thread, but I'm sure I can be forgiven this time. A year and a half of work finally being finished feels bloody good.

There's no mention of an update on the page, but the file has changed so that's good enough for me.
I think I playtested this yesterday, but it was under a different name when I playtested it. Take these changelogs with a pinch of salt:
  • Changed the "techno massacre" minigame
  • Something happened to the spinner but IDK what exactly
  • Changed the end of the deathrun, before you reach the minigame room.
  • Oh and something to do with the Mr Booby minigame. I also don't know :catbox:
New techno massacre is a ton of fun. I'm not a fan of the new way you end the map, but it's not going to put me off playing the entire map. Either way, still a nice update.

when will neonoir v9z be uploaded to the server?

Additional changes to neonoir v9z:
-midnight city no longer requires to be unlocked
-techno massacre needs to be unlocked before possible to play, (same way as how midnight city used to be unlocked)
-entering the wrong code for mr booby now starts to kill you.
-spinner got a little bit extended i think but in my opinion it's still too short also the third phase seems to be starting before the walls in the background start flashing red
-for mr booby there is not much changed in the gameplay, just some visual stuff for example the shining at the end.

It was a matter of time until Bun ran out of letters for V9 and had to jump to V10.

Changelog:
  • Lowered edicts
  • Shortened the map
  • Changed visibility in some areas
  • Adjusted difficulty in some minigames
  • Fixed abuse of boss unlocking procedure
  • Fixed client crash issues, audio issues, corrupted entities, and exploits.
That's a lotta updates in a short amount of time. Either way it makes the map better each time so I don't mind.

This is a pretty important update, so forgive me for this, but I'm going to have to tag you @Xypher

Changelog:
  • Fixed an exploit where you can crash clients (or the server, I haven't fully tested).
  • Fixed broken cubemaps
  • Minor improvements too I guess
I have nothing else to say to this really. Just a much needed update. I believe people have already done that crash on the current V10 after learning about it anyway.

it's really weird how a music easter egg can make almost everyone crash / make people run the game at 1 fps, good job bunsy

the new techno massacre also made people crash. Bunsy brought it back on v9z but then he removed it again because of "plugin issues on skial"
