If you didn't know, the two fish are actually mating and not just randomly doing that. And also, the "Sand/Dirt" you see is not that. It's a mixture of the dirt that's being kicked up from the ground and a certain "Substance" that I will not say what it is but using context clues you can figure it out.
How do I know this? During my Field Ecology class, my teacher showed this (Yes, with the Garry's Mod meme on it lol) and told us what was actually happening.
