The Edge of the World
The Ghastly Gibus is an unlockable cosmetic item for all classes. It is a damaged black gibus hat with the top nearly detached.

In a similar fashion to the Gentle Manne's Service Medal, this hat was originally earned by being one of the first 10,319 people to visit a hidden web page. The alternative method through which it could then be unlocked was to complete the Ghastly Gibus Grab Scarechievement by dominating a player who is wearing the hat. However, after 26 October 2012, this achievement now rewards the player with a Ghostly Gibus. Unlike most Halloween items, the Ghastly Gibus is not seasonally restricted.

Players that had earned the Ghastly Gibus before the Scream Fortress Update in 2010 or the Very Scary Halloween Special update in 2011 had their Ghastly Gibus upgraded to a Ghastlier Gibus

You know I had to rip the TF wiki :^)

In the name of Gibus

The Ghastly Gibus is a now unobtainable item from the Valve Software video game named Team Fortress 2, originally released on the "Orange Box" containing two other Valve Software games. The Ghastly Gibus was awarded to the first 10,319 people to visit a webpage. It was also given to players by "dominating" another player with the Ghastly Gibus equipped on the class they are currently playing as. During the Halloween events in 2010 and 2011, all players who had a Ghastly Gibus had it replaced by a Ghastlier Gibus, and later events had those Ghastlier Gibuses replaced with Ghastlierest Gibuses. The reason it is unobtainable is because of the previously mentioned events where all Ghastly Gibuses were replaced with another hat. The Ghastly Gibus was also succeeded by the similar Ghostly Gibus, which is the exact same except for its name and a model of a ghost that sits above the hole in the top. Because of Source Filmmaker's outdatedness, it contains the Ghastly Gibus, but not the Ghostly Gibus.
